เข้าเยี่ยมชมกิจการของมูลนิธิสายธารแห่งความหวัง

มูลนิธิสายธารแห่งความหวัง ได้รับเกียรติจาก International Union Against Cancer (UICC) โดยได้มอบหมายให้ ศ.พญ. พาเมล่า โคลส แพทย์ผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านชีวันตารักษ์ (Palliative Care) แห่งมหาวิทยาลัยเซาเทิร์นแคลิฟอร์เนีย มาเยี่ยมชมกิจการของมูลนิธิสายธารแห่งความหวัง เมื่อวันที่ 28 มิถุนายน 2553
ในการเข้าเยี่ยมชมครั้งนี้ รศ.นพ. อิศรางค์ นุชประยูร เลขาธิการมูลนิธิฯ เป็นผู้ให้การต้อนรับ และมีโอกาสแลกเปลี่ยนประสบการณ์การการดูแลผู้ป่วยเด็กในแบบชีวันตารักษ์ (Palliative Care) ในประเทศไทย และสหรัฐอเมริกา
สำหรับ UICC นั้น ได้ให้ทุนสนับสนุนแก่มูลนิธิสายธารแห่งความหวัง สำหรับแผนงานการพัฒนาการดูแลผู้ป่วยเด็กที่เป็นโรคมะเร็งที่รักษายากในประเทศไทย ในแนว Palliative Care เพื่อใช้ในการฝึกอบรมอาสาสมัคร อบรมบุคลากรทางการแพทย์ ตลอดจนการจัดกิจกรรมอื่นๆ เพื่อให้ผู้ป่วยเด็กมีคุณภาพชีวิตที่ดีขึ้น
Dr. Pamela Close, representative of the International Union Against Cancer (UICC) and professor from the University of Southern California, visited the Wishing Well Foundation on June 28, 2010. Dr. Issarang Nuchprayoon, our Secretary General, shared his experience of working with terminally ill children in Thailand. In turn, Dr. Close offered her expertise in caring for children patients with end-stage cancer and blood diseases. Both discussed their respective cultural sensitivities in dealing with patient cases. The Wishing Well Foundation plans to advance pediatric palliative care in Thailand with assistance from UICC. A primary focus of this effort will be to strength staff and volunteer training in order to provide the highest quality of life for all of our children patients.
